CSU, Chico student Guille Sanchez-Alfaro searched high and low for a truly multicultural sorority. She found Delta Xi Phi and contacted them about expanding to CSUC. Guille recruited 5 other women to join in the quest of making Delta Xi Phi a national organization by colonizing a second chapter. After going through the colonization process, only two women remained. With much courage and dedication, Guille Sanchez-Alfaro and Mai Thao-Murphy founded Beta Associate Chapter of Delta Xi Phi August 14, 1998 and became the members of the Alpha line "Intrepid". Since then, the chapter has grown to be a phenomenal team of women coming from Asian, Latino, African-American, Caucasian and multi-racial descent who truly strive to make a difference at Chico State.
